Government of India launched five key initiatives to conserve biodiversity

During the occasion of International day for biodiversity ,Government of India launched five key initiatives to conserve biodiversity on 22 May,2020.The initiatives were launched by Prakash Javedkar,
Union minister of Environment,Forest and Climate change.

The five initiatives include the following:-

1.The “Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme” was launched. It aims at engaging 20 students in post graduate programme for a period of 1 year. The programme will engage creative students that are willing to learn about biodiversity conservation and natural resource management.


2.UNEP campaign on Illegal Trafficking of Endangered Species: "Not all Animals Migrate by choice" initiative was launched.


3.
Launch of WWF India Awareness Campaign on Nature's Free Services: a) Air we Breathe b) Pollination c) Securing our Future

4.The World Wildlife Fund Model Conference of Parties (COP), including the younger generation, was launched. It will engage in imprinting humanity towards biodiversity.

5. A Webinar series titled "Biodiversity Conservation and Biological Diversity Act, 2002" was launched.
